Up North Arts welcomes all Mahjongg players, Newbies to Mavens, for an afternoon of fun and fellowship! Players will need to have their 2025 National Mahjongg League card if you have it. If not, bring your 2024 card. Also, bring a Mahjongg set, if available. Enjoy an afternoon with fellow Mahjongg enthusiasts!

Tired of using the boring spiral bound commercial art journals? Join Linda to create your own perfect personal sketchbook. No Sewing Required! Linda will guide you through a bookbinding technique that results in a nice "lie flat" book when opened to any page. Your finished project will provide you with plenty of space for your watercolor paintings. Suitable for mixed media work as well. All bookbinding tools will be provided by the instructor

Hand Building Functional Pottery
Students will create three functional pieces.
The 1st week a mug, 2nd week a planter, and the 3rd week stacking trays all while exploring different textures. No class on 5/28, (the 4th week) as students will have a break to allow for pieces they’ve made to be bisque fired. The 5th week student will return to decorate their pieces applying varied glazing techniques. The 6th week all will gather to show off their finished pieces and enjoying light refreshments.

Our process involves expertly blending and enhancing metallics with four pieces of art paper using vibrant alcohol inks.Participants will experience the thrill of crafting distinct jewelry, selecting from various pendant settings, earrings, bracelets, and rings, all accompanied by chains. Alcohol inks are a fascinating medium and the perfect choice to create stunning paintings of Asian fighting fish (betta fish). Using glossy black paper, compressed air, and a small brush, Julie will guide you through creating a beautiful diptych (two paintings). You don't need any prior experience to join the course.
