This beginner-friendly class is open to all, regardless of dance background. Description: This beginner-friendly class is open to all, regardless of dance background. You'll find a supportive environment to grow and focus on the fundamentals of belly dance, including basic movements, isolations, and combinations. We'll also incorporate elements of yoga to enhance flexibility and strength. Instead of memorizing complex choreography, we'll prioritize the joy of free expression. You'll have the opportunity to experiment with different movements, rhythms, and musical styles. We'll gradually build on these foundational skills, allowing you to create your own unique dance vocabulary.
With a background in contemporary dance with P.U.R.E. (Public Urban Ritual Experiment) and solo performance experience in Traverse City, Michigan and Portland, Oregon, Ellen has had the privilege of studying under talented teachers in diverse belly dance styles. She's excited to share her passion for this beautiful art form with you.
